SAEEC EFFICENCY AWARDS CATEGORIES

1. ENERGY PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR

Presented an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the energy profession and to the candidate’s community in any or all of these areas: educational and collegiate achievements; professional and technical society activities; civic and humanitarian activities, continuing competence; energy management achievements; climate change activities and achievements; and renewable energy activities and achievements.

2. YOUNG PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR

Presented an individual 35 years of age or younger on January 1, 2018 who has made outstanding contributions to the energy profession and to the candidate’s community in any or all of these areas: educational and collegiate achievements; professional and technical society activities; civic and humanitarian activities, continuing competence; energy management achievements; climate change activities and achievements; and renewable energy activities and achievements.

3. FEMALE PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR

Presented to a Female who has made outstanding contributions to the energy profession and to the candidate’s community in any or all of these areas: educational and collegiate achievements; professional and technical society activities; civic and humanitarian activities, continuing competence; energy management achievements; climate change activities and achievements; and renewable energy activities and achievements.

4. ENERGY SERVICE COMPANY (ESCO) OF THE YEAR 

Presented to an energy saving company for outstanding accomplishments in developing, organizing, managing and implementing its corporate energy management program, and for superior service to the Association

5. COMMERCIAL CORPORATE COMPANY OF THE YEAR

Presented to a commercial corporation, agency, or organization for outstanding accomplishments in developing, organizing, managing and implementing its corporate energy management program, and for superior service to the Association

6. INDUSTRIAL CORPORATE COMPANY OF THE YEAR

 Presented to an industrial corporation, agency, or organization for outstanding accomplishments in developing, organizing, managing and implementing its corporate energy management program, and for superior service to the Association

7. COMMERCIAL ENERGY PROJECT OF THE YEAR

Recognizes an innovative commercial energy management project in South Africa that has been in operation for at least six (6) months and can be substantiated with actual installation costs and operating savings.

8. COMMERCIAL ENERGY PROJECT OF THE YEAR

Recognizes an innovative industrial energy management project in South Africa  that has been in operation for at least six (6) months and can be substantiated with actual installation costs and operating savings.

9. INNOVATIVE PROJECT OF THE YEAR

Recognizes an innovative energy project (includes renewables and green projects, and those making significant impact on climate change) that has been in operation for at least six months and can be substantiated with actual installation, operating costs and achievements. This is a broad category, and all projects are given fair consideration.

10. ENERGY INNOVATOR PROJECT OF THE YEAR

Presented to an individual for outstanding achievement and innovation in promoting the adoption of renewable, green, or other innovative energy technologies.

SAEEC EFFICENCY RECOGNITION CATEGORIES

  1. EFFICIENCY EDUCATION

Recognizing to corporates or individuals for the promotion of educational activities which serve to further both the understanding of efficiency, its role in sustainable development in the context of Southern Africa.

 

  1. ENERGY EFFICIENCY HALL OF FAME

This recognition award is the highest honor bestowed by SAEEC to a very limited number of distinguished individuals for their lifetime achievements in promoting the practices and principles of energy management.

  1. LEGENDS IN ENERGY

Recognizing qualified energy professionals at each year’s awards that have reached certain milestones such as serving as an officer in SAEEC or AEE or a local chapter, or receiving an AEE International or National Award.

  1. CLEAN ENERGY MINISTERIAL

Recognizing leading energy professionals or Organisations that manage their energy using ISO 50001. Companies that promote policies and programs that advance clean energy technology, to share lessons learned and best practices, and to encourage the transition to a global clean energy economy
