As the Founder of Gen Zero Solutions, a black female-owned consultancy, Priya is at the forefront of driving innovative energy conservation and optimization strategies.

Priya holds a Bachelors in Chemical Engineering and an Honours degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Pretoria, complemented by a B.Com in Business Management from the University of South Africa. Her extensive expertise is further bolstered by certifications as a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and an ISO 50001 Energy Management System expert, credentials that underline her deep commitment to energy efficiency and sustainability.

Her career is marked by significant achievements in transforming industries through innovative energy management practices. Priya has excelled in conducting comprehensive energy audits and implementing energy conservation strategies, positioning her as a pivotal force in reducing environmental impact and optimizing energy use. As a UNIDO certified trainer for energy courses in South Africa, she imparts her extensive knowledge to foster the next generation of energy professionals.

Priya’s contributions to the field have been recognized through prestigious awards. She is the current recipient of the Energy Management Leadership Award from the South African Energy Efficiency Confederation (SAEEC), in addition to being honoured as the 2024 Energy Manager of the Year for Sub-Saharan Africa by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE). Her expertise is frequently sought after at leading conferences, including her notable presentation on the South African electricity grid network infrastructure at the SAEEC conference
