SAEEC Opens Call for Papers for 2nd Annual Water Efficiency Technical Conference
The Southern African Energy Efficiency Confederation (SAEEC) has officially opened its Call for Papers for the 2nd Annual Water Efficiency Technical Conference, taking place on Wednesday, 20 May 2026.
Hosted under the theme “Advancing Smart Water Efficiency: Technologies, Skills and Strategies for a Resilient Future,” the conference will bring together engineers, practitioners, researchers, policymakers and water efficiency professionals from across the public and private sectors.
The annual technical conference aims to strengthen industry capacity, promote best practice, and advance professional knowledge in water efficiency across municipal, industrial, commercial and public environments. SAEEC invites the submission of original, high-quality technical papers and extended abstracts that contribute meaningfully to the advancement of water efficiency practice in Southern Africa.
Conference Objectives
The conference seeks to:
- Showcase innovative water efficiency technologies and solutions
- Strengthen skills in water auditing, measurement and verification
- Promote policy dialogue and cross-sector collaboration
- Support alignment with national water regulations and sustainability objectives
- Advance professional development through internationally recognised frameworks such as CWEP®
Suggested Topics
Submissions may address, but are not limited to, the following areas:
- Water efficiency best practices in domestic, commercial and industrial facilities
- Design and optimisation of efficient and sustainable water systems
- Water efficiency audits, metering, benchmarking, measurement and verification
- Water-efficient technologies and appliances
- Municipal and industrial water demand management strategies
- Alternative water sourcing options, including rainwater harvesting and water reuse
- Water treatment technologies supporting water efficiency initiatives
- Policies, regulations, standards and compliance in water management
- Translating research and innovation into practical implementation
Submission Guidelines
- Authors are invited to submit a technical paper or extended abstract for peer review
- Submissions must be technical, evidence-based and relevant to water efficiency practice
- Selected papers will be invited for oral presentation at the conference
Peer-reviewed papers and presentations will be considered for publication in SAEEC’s Annual Technical Journal, distributed to an ABC-audited audience of more than 6,000 industry professionals.
